Biography
Fazlul Hasan Siddiqui is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh. He is currently serving as the Director of the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) and as the Chairman of the ICT Cell at DUET. Previously, he served as the Head of the same department for two years and as the ICT Advisor of DUET for three years. He received his Ph.D. in Automated Planning, a subfield of Artificial Intelligence, from The Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia, in 2016. His doctoral dissertation received an Honorable Mention for the prestigious ICAPS (International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling) Best Dissertation Award in 2017. Earlier, he earned his M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2007, and his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Information Technology from Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur, Bangladesh, in 2002. His key publications include Multi-layered Attentional Peephole Convolutional LSTM for Abstractive Text Summarization (ETRI Journal), Continuing Plan Quality Optimisation (JAIR, 2015), and Exploiting Block Deordering for Improving Planner Efficiency (IJCAI, 2004). His current research interests focus on Automated Planning and Deep Learning within the broader field of Artificial Intelligence.
